11 September 2014 in Classroom Training, First Aid, Instructor

Child eye face cut small graphicAs a result of a government review, the requirement for trainers offering paediatric first aid to be approved by local councils or be on a council list, is no longer exists.  ProTrainings were approved by many councils across the UK and we appreciate how much of a barrier was placed on trainers.

Paediatic First Aid has been increased from a level 2 to a level 3 qualification so this applies to both ProTrainings and Regulated Qualifications from the 1st September 2014. Read the rest of this entry →

FAW Requalification Course in Colchester for Instructors

17 January 2014 in Instructor

Zemanta Related Posts ThumbnailIf you need to re-qualify your FAW, we are running a course in Colchester on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th March 2014. This course is for instructors only and will renew your FAW as HABC level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) and update your annual skill review. The cost is £195 plus VAT and you can book by calling Paula on 01206 805380 or emailing the office. You do not have to do your requalification with us, you can complete it locally but make sure that you are getting a level 3 QCF or Red Cross/St Johns FAW, as you cannot deliver First Aid courses without certificates at this level. If you have an old HSE certificate, this will still be valid till it expires.

If you do not renew your FAW you cannot teach once it expires so do not leave it too late.

Make sure instructors are current to teach before you use them

9 December 2013 in Classroom Training, First Aid, Instructor, QCF

When you use another instructor you must make sure that they are current on the ProTrainings system as at the time you wan to use them, they have a current FAW or exemption, their skill review is up to date and that they are approved to deliver the course type (if applicable).  This is a simple process as when you request to add an instructor to your centre you can see their portfolio of evidence from the instructor documents section of your dashboard.  If in any doubt or you want to check contact us before the course.

18 November 2013 in Classroom Training, Featured Articles, Fire Safety, First Aid, Health & Safety, Instructor, QCF

ProTrainings are now working in partnership with Highfield HABC for QCF qualifications.  We made the decision to work with the largest Awarding Organisation for First Aid qualifications to help to reduce the paperwork, speed up certificate times and enable you to give your customers a certificate and wallet card for HABC courses.

All instructors who were already cleared, have been transferred so you do not need to do anything, courses that you list are not only advertised on the ProTrainings sites but are now also listed on the Highfield course finder site automatically (if they are marked as public).  Therefore doubling your exposure and providing more opportunities for potential customers to find your courses.

ProTrainings are the only organisation that offer you the choice of delivering a regulated qualification or ProTrainings Trade Body certificate, unlike other trade bodies our certificates are fully traceable and your customers can rest assured that the requirements for due diligence, quality assurance and verification are all met because all of our procedures and course materials meet requirements. All ProTrainings centres will still benefit from:-

17 October 2013 in Classroom Training, First Aid, Instructor, QCF

When students take the EFAW course they may decide that they want to upgrade to the full level 3 QCF FAW qualification.  This is now possible as the FAW is made of two units, the first of which is the EFAW.  All you need to do is to come back and complete the final two days of a QCF FAW and then receive the full level 3 award. The only thing you must do is to complete the course within 10 weeks, after this time you will have to take the whole three days to gain the FAW Award.  If you need any help or guidance, email us at or phone 01206 805359.

QCF Certificate errors and lost certificates

17 June 2013 in Classroom Training, First Aid, Health & Safety

Please take care when registering QCF Student’s names onto the system to ensure that you have the correct spelling.  You should when the learner is on the course confirm the spelling and what name they want on the certificate.  We recommend always sending QCF certificates by recorded delivery to ensure they get where they are supposed to and they are then insured.  Replacement certificates have to be manually raised and replacements are charged by the Awarding Body.
